Area contestants to compete in Miss Arkansas Pageant

Several young women with ties to the River Valley & Ozark Edition coverage area will compete in the 78th Miss Arkansas Scholarship Pageant on Monday through Saturday at the Bank of the Ozarks Arena in Hot Springs. Contestants will arrive today.

Preliminary competitions will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, with the final competition and crowning set to begin at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Preliminary awards will be made Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in artistic expression (talent), lifestyle and fitness (swimsuit), and presence and poise (evening gown) competitions.

Area contestants include the following:

• Logan Moore of Van Buren, Miss Arkansas River, is the 20-year-old daughter of Zane and Laura Moore.

She will present a flute selection for her talent, and her platform is “Food for All.”

A sophomore nursing major at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, she will compete in interview on Monday, artistic expression on Wednesday, lifestyle and fitness on Thursday, and presence and poise and on-stage question on Friday.

• Jada Collins of Hector, Miss Arkansas State University, is the 19-year-old daughter of Brent Collins and Lorrie Ellis.

She will present a vocal selection for her talent, and her platform is “Live the United Way.”

A sophomore strategic communications major at ASU in Jonesboro, she will compete in interview on Tuesday evening, lifestyle and fitness on Wednesday, presence and poise and on-stage question on Thursday, and artistic expression on Friday.

• Haven Brock of Haskell, Miss Arkansas Tech University, is the 20-year-old daughter of Eric and Casson Brock.

She will present a vocal selection for her talent, and her platform is “Carson’s Kids.”

A senior early childhood education major at Arkansas Tech, she will compete in interview on Monday, artistic expression on Wednesday, lifestyle and fitness on Thursday, and presence and poise and on-stage question on Friday.

• Mallori Victoria Hartsfield of Pine Bluff, Miss Conway, is the 21-year-old daughter of Donnie and Maribeth Hartsfield.

She will present a tap dance for her talent, and her platform is “The Natural Way to Feed a Family.”

A junior nursing major at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, she will compete in interview on Tuesday, presence and poise and on-stage question on Wednesday, artistic expression on Thursday, and lifestyle and fitness on Friday.

• Makenzie Moore of Harrison, Miss Diamond Lakes, is the 23-year-old daughter of Brady and Deborah Moore.

She will present a ballet en pointe for her talent, and her platform is “The Power of a Wish.”

She is a graduate of UCA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication and a minor in marketing. She will compete in interview on Monday, artistic expression on Wednesday, lifestyle and fitness on Thursday, and presence and poise and on-stage question on Friday.

• Mary Ellen Hunthrop of White Hall, Miss Greater Little Rock, is the 23-year-old daughter of Joy Hunthrop.

She will present a jazz dance for her talent, and her platform is “Embracing the New Normal: The 21st Century Family Unit.”

She is a first-year graduate student at UCA, where she is studying communication sciences and disorders. She will compete in interview on Tuesday evening, lifestyle and fitness on Wednesday, presence and poise and on-stage question on Thursday, and artistic expression on Friday.

• Carly Copeland of Clarksville, Miss Johnson County, is the 18-year-old daughter of Jody and Donna Copeland.

She will present a vocal selection for her talent, and her platform is “Mentoring Matters.”

A freshman elementary education major at Arkansas Tech, she will compete in interview on Tuesday, presence and poise and on-stage question on Wednesday, artistic expression on Thursday, and lifestyle and fitness on Friday.

• Jennifer Nottenkamper of Fayetteville, Miss Lake Dardanelle, is the 23-year-old daughter of Bill and Cindy Nottenkamper.

She will present a baton twirling routine for her talent, and her platform is “What Lies Beneath.”

She is a graduate of the University of Arkansas and a graduate student at UCA, where she is studying health education. She will compete in interview on Tuesday evening, lifestyle and fitness on Wednesday, presence and poise and on-stage question on Thursday, and artistic expression on Friday.

• Halle Erwin of Stuttgart, Miss Metro, is the 19-year-old daughter of Rick and Jennifer Gill.

She will present a tap dance for her talent, and her platform is “Living the Golden Rule: Give Kindness, Rise Above.”

A senior health and behavioral sciences student at UCA, she will compete in interview on Tuesday, presence and poise and on-stage question on Wednesday, artistic expression on Thursday, and lifestyle and fitness on Friday.

• Brooklyn Woodworth of Harrison, Miss North Central Arkansas, is the 18-year-old daughter of Shawn and Dana Stark.

She will present a piano selection for her talent, and her platform is “Promoting a Gluten-Free Lifestyle.”

A freshman pre-medical, biology student at Arkansas Tech, she will compete in interview on Monday, artistic expression on Wednesday, lifestyle and fitness on Thursday, and presence and poise and on-stage question on Friday.

• Kelli Collins of Dardanelle, Miss Ozark Highlands, is the 18-year-old daughter of Jackie and Debbie Collins.

She will present a vocal selection for her talent, and her platform is “Kids Helping Kids.”

A freshman biology major at UCA, she will compete in interview on Monday, artistic expression on Wednesday, lifestyle and fitness on Thursday, and presence and poise and on-stage question on Friday.

• Alyson Tyler of Rogers, Miss Petit Jean Valley, is the 21-year-old daughter of Andy and Diana Woller.

She will present a vocal selection for her talent, and her platform is “Empowering Musical Minds.”

A junior accounting major at UCA, she will compete in interview on Tuesday evening, lifestyle and fitness on Wednesday, presence and poise and on-stage question on Thursday, and artistic expression on Friday.

• Caitlyn Cook of Conway, Miss Spirit of Arkansas, is the 22-year-old daughter of Joseph and Mary Cook.

She will present a vocal selection for her talent, and her platform is “Be Red Cross Ready.”

A senior health education major at UCA, she will compete in interview on Tuesday, presence and poise and on-stage question on Wednesday, artistic expression on Thursday, and lifestyle and fitness on Friday.

• Isabella Catron of Van Buren, Miss Sweetheart of Arkansas, is the 18-year-old daughter of Kyle and Melissa Catron.

She will present a tap dance for her talent, and her platform is “Ready, Set, Go!”

A freshman communication disorders major at UCA, she will compete in interview on Tuesday, presence and poise and on-stage question on Wednesday, artistic expression on Thursday, and lifestyle and fitness on Friday.

• Chelsy Jones of Plumerville, Miss University of Central Arkansas, is the 23-year-old daughter of Randy and Jennifer Jones.

She will present a vocal selection for her talent, and her platform is “Operation Give Back: America’s Duty.”

A senior kinesiology major at UCA, she will compete in interview on Tuesday, presence and poise and on-stage question on Wednesday, artistic expression on Thursday, and lifestyle and fitness on Friday.

• Samantha Hudon of Hot Springs, Miss White River, is the 23-year-old daughter of Jon and Chris Hudon.

She will present a vocal selection for her talent, and her platform is “Get Up! Get Moving.”

She is a graduate of UCA with a degree in broadcast journalism. She will compete in interview on Tuesday evening, lifestyle and fitness on Wednesday, presence and poise and on-stage question on Thursday, and artistic expression on Friday.
