T Tauri Movie Camp Registration Deadline

BATESVILLE— Monday is the deadline to register for the 11th annual T Tauri Movie Camp, which offers a variety of video-production workshops for aspiring filmmakers ages 8 to 18 and will take place July 13-25. This year’s camp will offer four workshops ranging in length from two to 3 1/2 days: Script to Screen Narrative Filmmaking, Music Video, Cut Paper Stop Motion Animation and Depicting Zombies. The cost is $60 to $100 each for the workshops, which are taught by experienced filmmakers/educators. All supplies and equipment are included. Tyler Parten Memorial Golf Tournament

CHEROKEE VILLAGE — The third annual Tyler Parten Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament will be held Saturday at the Cherokee Village South Course. The four-person-scramble tournament features a $10,000 hole-in-one prize and cash prizes for three places in each of the three flights. Proceeds from the tournament will fund scholarships for students at Highlands High School and Lee Academy. Parten was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2009. Second Saturday Bingo

AARP Driver Safety Course

SEARCY — The PrimeTimes of White County Medical Center, now Unity Health, at 3214 E. Race Ave., will offer an AARP Smart Driver Course from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Hubach Center. Park behind the hospital off Moore Street, and use the elevator to go to the first floor. Participants may want to bring a coat because the room is chilly. The instructor is Frances Mizell. The cost of the course is $15 for AARP members with an AARP card, and $20 for nonmembers. For participants 55 or older, a certificate of completion qualifies them for a three-year discount on car-insurance premiums in Arkansas. Freud’s Last Session

SEARCY — Mark St. Germain’s 2009 play Freud’s Last Session will be performed at Center on the Square as a dessert-theater showing. The shows will take place at 7:30 p.m. July 17, 18, 24 and 25, with a 1:30 p.m. final performance July 26. Tickets are $18 for the dessert theater and $16 for show-only tickets.

Horseshoe Bend Farmers Market

HORSESHOE BEND — The Horseshoe Bend Farmers Market takes place from 8-11 a.m. every Wednesday in the Faith Presbyterian Church parking lot. Fresh vegetables and fruit, baked goods, locally made birdhouses and feeders, fresh eggs and dairy products are for sale every week. Marketgoers may pre-order fresh Gulf shrimp and oysters, as well.

Yoga in the Gallery

Photo Exhibit Deadline

SALEM — July 15 is the deadline to register as a photo exhibitor at the Fulton County Fair. The fair will sell photo mats to exhibitors at $1.50 each for 11-by-14-inch mats and $1.25 for 8-by-10-inch mats. Exhibitors must go to the fair office from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday or from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays. The fair will take place July 27 through Aug. 1. HEBER SPRINGS— The World Championship Cardboard Boat Races will start at 10 a.m. July 25 at Sandy Beach. The theme is Jimmy Buffet style, so attendees are encouraged to dress like the iconic singer. There will be a volleyball tournament at 10 a.m., with registration at 8 a.m.; a treasure dig at 10 a.m.; and a watermelon-eating contest at 11 a.m.

Fulton County Fair Horse Show

SALEM — The Fulton County Fair Horse Show will be held at 6 p.m. July 28. The show will feature two speed events, barrel racing and pole bending. The show will also include halter classes, showmanship at halter, western pleasure, trail classes and lead-line classes for children ages 5 and younger. No horses will be allowed on the fairgrounds until 4 p.m. July 28, and Coggins papers must be presented for entry. All horse entries must be registered by July 15.
