Wedding vows were exchanged by Neshaja Sharie Smith and Michael Andre Nichols at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at The Albert Pike Memorial Temple. The Rev. Cory S. Anderson of New Hope Baptist Church of North Little Rock, uncle of the groom, officiated.

Parents of the bride are Guy Leroy Smith of Sherwood and the late Gladys Bernice Smith. Her grandparents are the late Mattie and Leroy Smith and the late Gladys and Willie Thompson, all also of North Little Rock.

The groom is the son of Verline and Jarret Davis, 2408 S. State St., and the grandson of the late Yancey and Clemmie Nichols of England.

The ceremony site was marked with draped columns and vases topped with balls of roses. Music was by Cedric Jones, brother of the bride, and vocalist Terri Nash.

The bride was escorted by her father and her sons, Jawoine Harriott and Jaaron Harriott. She wore a white organza ball gown embellished with beaded appliques and carried a bouquet of roses.

Serving as the bride's honor attendants were Heather Ball of Bryant and Shannon Smith of North Little Rock. Bridesmaids were Tamekia Adams and Mekeicha Smith-Jackson, cousin of the bride, both of North Little Rock; Latonja Wilson of Kalamazoo, Mich., cousin of the bride; Latrice Lee of Little Rock; Kimberly Jones of Searcy; and Tina Jones of Sherwood. Junior bridesmaid was Kassidy Nichols of North Little Rock, daughter of the groom. They wore red halter-style gowns of chiffon and charmeuse. They carried bouquets of ivory roses. Flower girl and ring bearer were Madison Smith of Little Rock, niece of the groom, and Mason Ball of Bryant.

The groom's honor attendants were Anthony Ajoku of Little Rock and Chauncey Walker of Sherwood. Groomsmen were Patrick Johnson, Rodrick Jackson and Telly Noel, all of Little Rock; Joe Jackson of Memphis; and Paul Person and Steve Roby, both of North Little Rock. Guests were seated by the bride's sons and Dillon Nichols of North Little Rock, son of the groom.

A reception, also at the Temple, followed the ceremony. Tables covered in black pintuck cloths were centered with glass trumpet vases embellished with hanging Swarovski crystals and topped with red rose kissing balls.

The bride attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and is a student at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock studying accounting and hospital administration. She is employed at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences as a managed care contract analyst.

The groom graduated from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff with a bachelor's degree in biology and from Philander Smith College with a bachelor's degree in organizational management. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi. He is executive editor of the online Ink Magazine and a special processor at Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield.

The couple will live in Little Rock after a wedding trip to Las Vegas.
