Village Insurance wins award

Village Insurance in Bella Vista won the inaugural Top State Host award from AARP. The association said the agency has collaborated with local volunteers for many years to host its classroom-based driving refresher course.

The Bella Vista agency offered 23 courses at its facility in 2014, reaching 457 residents. AARP Driver Safety’s Top State Hosts are recognized based on the impact they make reaching drivers in their communities. Village Insurance continues to offer AARP Driver Safety events, including the AARP Smart Driver course. The course is open to drivers of all ages, and AARP membership is not required to take the course.

NWA Industrial Supply opens

NWA Industrial Supply & Rental, a locally owned and operated company, has a new division, Eventually Yours, Parties and Rentals, open at 100 E. Robinson Ave., Springdale.

The company specializes in small equipment rentals and maintenance, repair and operations supplies for many needs. It opened in April. The public is invited to a grand opening celebration Friday .

Water district team competes

The Southwest Section of American Water Works Association’s “Top Ops” team tied for sixth place at the National Water Works Competition held June 10 in Anaheim, Calif.

There were 19 teams competing.

Team members work for Beaver Water District. Frank Blowers of Pea Ridge is a maintenance mechanic II, Nicole Bridges of Lowell is a laboratory analyst and Dustin Mayhew of Springdale is a plant operator II. Combined they have more than 30 years of experience in the water field. In Top Ops, teams of water operators from all American Water Works Association sections compete in a question-and-answer tournament.
