St. Francis County takes tax payments online

St. Francis County residents in east Arkansas now have the option to pay personal property and real estate taxes online, county officials say.

Taxpayers can now pay those fees at ar.gov/stfrancisproptax using a computer, smartphone or tablet, St. Francis County Tax Collector Bobby May said in a news release.

"We are always looking for cost-effective ways to make the tax payment process easier for citizens," May said. "I am proud to offer our residents a convenient way to pay their taxes online, from wherever they are, and avoid delinquent fees."

Personal property and real estate taxes are due March 1 and delinquent after Oct. 15, May said.

The secure payment system was developed by the state's eGovernment service provider, Information Network of Arkansas, which provides online tax payment services in 52 other counties, the county said. A "minimal" fee is included to process tax payment transactions, which funds the website, May said.

Residents can still pay taxes in person at the St. Francis County tax collector's office in Forrest City, May said.
