Suspects in killing of El Dorado boy due in court

EL DORADO — Two men facing capital-murder charges in the accidental shooting of an El Dorado boy are due in court.

Patrick Rogers, 24, and Shaquille Green, 20, of El Dorado were being held without bail in the Union County jail Monday and are scheduled for a court appearance later in the day. Both face charges including murder, aggravated assault and engaging in gang activities.

El Dorado Police Capt. Kevin Holt said the men surrendered late last week after the Thursday shooting. He said the 11-year-old boy was in his grandmother's front yard when he was struck by a single stray bullet.

The boy's name hasn't been released.

Online jail records didn't list attorneys for either suspect.
