Westbound I-30 reopens after truck removed

Westbound Interstate 30 in Saline County has reopened after crews shut it to remove an overturned truck.

The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said shortly after 12:20 p.m. that the highway was back open. That was about three hours after it announced on Twitter that all westbound lanes would close just west of U.S. 70.

Though the highway was back open, traffic was still moving slowly through the area at 12:30 p.m., according to the ArkansasOnline live traffic map.

A spokesman for the agency said crews were planning to upright an overturned truck and remove it from the area.

Westbound motorists were detoured onto U.S. 67 at mile marker 114 during the closure.

An Arkansas State Police spokesman said the truck was involved in a crash over the weekend and officials opted to wait until after Monday morning's rush hour to remove it.
