Woman dies after having heart attack, crashing into Tulsa church

TULSA — A woman has died after having an apparent heart attack and crashing her vehicle into a church in Tulsa.

Authorities said an 85-year-old woman was in the parking lot of Sheridan Christian Center on Sunday morning when she shifted her car into reverse and then apparently suffered a heart attack. Police said she pushed down on the accelerator and then crashed into the corner of the church.

Emergency crews pulled the woman from the vehicle and transported her to an area hospital, where she later died.

Sgt. J.J. Peters said there was no pedestrian traffic or other vehicular traffic in the parking lot at the time.
