BENTONVILLE -- A Cave Springs man was sentenced to 12 years in prison after pleading guilty to possessing child pornography.

Jammie Albert Tucker, 47, pleaded guilty Monday to six counts of distributing, possession or viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child, a Class C felony. He originally was charged with 30 counts, but Stuart Cearley, chief deputy prosecutor, agreed to dismiss the other counts as part of a plea agreement he reached with Herb Southern, Tucker's attorney.

Tucker was arrested June 27, 2014, after an investigation by Arkansas attorney general's office agents, according to court documents.

Agents were able to trace downloaded child pornography back to Tucker's computer, according to probable cause affidavit. A search warrant was obtained for Tucker's residence and more than 30 images and videos depicting children engaged in sexual activity were found on Tuckers's computer, according the the affidavit.

Tucker said he began searching for adult pornographic videos, but he later began to search for child sexual exploitation videos, according to court documents.

Tucker told Circuit Judge Robin Green that he was not coerced into accepting the plea agreement. Tucker also said he understood he was waiving his rights to a jury trial and an appeal.

Green accepted the plea agreement and Tucker's guilty plea.

Tucker must abide by a suspended sentence agreement for seven years after his release from the Arkansas Department of Correction.

Tucker must register as a sex offender and pay $1,670 in court costs.
