Myers' 2-run shot helps propel Travs

D'Arby Myers' three-run home run in the fourth inning helped the Arkansas Travelers pull away to a 6-2 victory over the Frisco Roughriders on Monday night in front of an announced crowd of 3,581 at Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Texas.

With the Travelers leading 3-0 going into the fourth, Myers hit a 3-1 pitch from Frisco starting pitcher Frank Lopez over the left-field wall. The inning started when Michael Snyder walked and Wade Hinkle singled.

The Roughriders' runs came on a home run by Ryan Cordell in the fourth and another by J.T. Wise in the fifth.

The Travelers took a 2-0 lead in the second inning when Snyder doubled to left field to score Blake Gailen. Snyder scored on a fielding error by Frisco catcher Patrik Cantwell.

Arkansas made it 3-0 in the third when Brian Hernandez singled to right to score Drew Maggi, who led off with a double to center.

Michael Antonini (1-0) allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 5 1/3 inning to get the victory. Lopez (3-2) allowed 6 runs -- 5 earned -- on 6 hits in 3 1/3 innings with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts to get the loss.

Myers led the Travs by going 2 for 4 with 3 RBI. Hernandez went 2 for 5 with 1 RBI. Alex Burg went 2 for 3 to lead the Roughriders.

ROCKHOUNDS 5, NATURALS 4

The Midland RockHounds took a 5-1 lead and held off a late Naturals rally in front of 2,706 at Security Bank Ballpark in Midland, Texas.

With scored 1-1 in third, Midland got a two-run home run from in the fourth and Chad Pinder added a two-run shot in the fifth to give the RockHounds a 5-1 lead.

With Omar Duran entering the game to pitch for Midland, Bubba Starling and Zane Evans opened the ninth with singles for the Naturals. Kenny Diekroeger reached on a fielding error by Renato Nunez to load the bases. Terrance Gore then singled up the middle to score Starling. Parker Morin pinch hit for Logan Davis and reached on a fielder's choice to score Evans, making it 5-3.

Ryan Dull came in to replace Duran and got Lane Adams to ground out which scored Diekroeger to make it 5-4. Dull then struck out Ramon Torres to end the game.
