Work to shut lane of I-40 in Conway

Bridge work will require a lane closure on Interstate 40 in Conway tonight, a state Highway and Transportation Department news release said.

Crews will place a barrier wall to control traffic during the construction of a new Sixth Street overpass. The work is being performed just east of Exit 127 (Oak Street) in Conway and will require closing the westbound, outside lane of I-40 in the work zone at 8:30 p.m. tonight.

The lane closure will occur through 6 a.m. Thursday, weather permitting.

The project is a partnership between Conway and the state Highway and Transportation Department in which the city is funding the work and managing the project with supervision from the department.
