Obstetric ultrasound earns accreditation

The Maternal-Fetal Medicine Center of Northwest Arkansas' obstetric ultrasound earned accreditation from the Ultrasound Practice Accreditation Council of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.

The Maternal-Fetal Medicine Center of Northwest Arkansas achieved this recognition by meeting voluntary guidelines set by the diagnostic ultrasound profession. Facets of the practice assessed included the training and qualifications of physicians and sonographers, ultrasound equipment maintenance, documentation, storage and record-keeping practices, policies and procedures to protect patients and staff members, quality assurance methods and the thoroughness, technical quality and interpretation of the sonograms.

The center is home to Dr. Bernard Canzoneri, the area's only board-certified, fellowship-trained maternal-fetal medicine specialist/perinatologist. His office is at 5501 Willow Creek Drive, Suite 202 in Springdale.
