Gary Busey to lead Hot Springs St. Patrick's Day parade next year

Academy Award-nominated actor Gary Busey has been picked to lead next year's St. Patrick's Day parade in Hot Springs, which will also feature celebrity grand marshals Kevin and Michael Bacon, the Hot Springs Sentinel Record reported Sunday.

Busey will be the official parade starter for the First Ever 13th Annual World's Shortest St. Patrick's Day Parade in 2016, organizers announced. Fellow actor Kevin Bacon and his brother, Michael Bacon, had earlier been announced as grand marshals and also post-parade performers as the Bacon Brothers Band.

"You know, this year we saw an attendance of 30,006," Visit Hot Springs CEO Steve Arrison told the paper. "I think it's safe to go ahead and thank Gary Busey and Kevin and Michael Bacon now for our record attendance in 2016 of 30,009. We really are blessed to have them here and this will only continue to draw more great attention to Hot Springs. It's shaping up to be a wild parade."

Busey's on-screen credits include Lethal Weapon, Point Break and The Buddy Holly Story, for which he received a best actor Oscar nomination, and he's also known for appearances in several reality television shows.
