Lane closures set in Grant, Calhoun counties

Drainage work on Arkansas 46 in Grant County will require lane closures next week, and pavement testing on U.S. 167 in Calhoun County will also require closures, state Highway and Transportation Department officials said Thursday.

Crews will be replacing a culvert beneath Arkansas 46, about four miles east of U.S. 270, between Sheridan and Redfield, officials said. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in the work zone between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day Monday through Wednesday.

On U.S. 167, pavement testing extending north from Arkansas 274 to U.S. 79, east of Thornton, will next week reduce traffic to one lane.

The work will require alternately closing the northbound and southbound lanes and shoulders between 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.
