FlyPunch!

FlyPunch!

What's to love: It is an easy-to-use fruit fly trap.

What does it do: The last thing wanted when harvesting summer vegetables from the garden is an infestation of fruit flies. Often brought home on fruit and vegetables from the store, fruit flies can quickly multiply and spread. This trap looks likes a flip-top spice jar, but the container is filled with a nontoxic liquid fly attractant which is safe to use in your kitchen. Directions on the label are simple. Remove seal, place near fruit flies, count the bodies. The product is made in the USA and lasts for 30 days. A 6-ounce jar sells for $7.99.

What's to love: Peel-and-stick solid wood planking for walls.

What does it do: With a wide variety of styles from rustic barn wood to reclaimed sports flooring complete with boundary markings, new wall designs are only limited by the homeowner's imagination. The thin planks can be applied in chevron or zigzag patterns or in horizontal or vertical lines. There are 16 styles/colors of plain planking, such as weathered wood, cherry and golden oak, all made from reclaimed wood, plus six more that are printed with patterns. Three strips of peel-and-stick adhesive are attached to the backs of the planks. Width, length and price vary depending on the style bought.
