Tulsa man drowns in Oklahoma lake

HOLDENVILLE, Okla. — A Tulsa man has drowned and a Holdenville man was injured trying to rescue him at Holdenville City Lake.

The Ada News reports that 27-year-old Marcus Watkins drowned Saturday while swimming in the lake.

The newspaper says a 56-year-old Holdenville man jumped from a boat into the lake to try to help Watkins, but became tired and eventually swam to shore where began to have heart trouble and was later taken to an Oklahoma City hospital in stable condition.
