A 16-year-old arrested in the fatal shooting of a man in Little Rock last week had his bail set at $250,000 during an initial court appearance Tuesday morning.

Marquese Gay, who is charged as an adult in the killing Saturday night of 20-year-old Mark Mosley, was also ordered to wear an electronic ankle monitor if he is released from the Pulaski County jail.

Little Rock District Judge Alice Lightle also entered a preliminary innocent plea for Gay and said he will be allowed only to go to school, work and court if his bail is posted. Gay didn't speak during the brief video arraignment.

Mosley died at UAMS Medical Center after police responded to 1624 S. Cedar St. and found him on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound.

Witnesses said an argument preceded the shooting, though details about what it was over or the relationship between Gay and Mosley weren't immediately available. Prosecutors didn't detail the crime during the hearing.

A probable cause affidavit detailing the crime said three witnesses at the scene identified Gay by name or by his nickname, Lill Ghumbie, as the person who shot Mosley. The affidavit, written by Little Rock Police Department Detective Matt Hoffine, said Gay and Mosley "had previously argued in person and over Facebook" and were "in a feud."

Gay was named a suspect the day after the shooting; he turned himself in Monday on a charge of first-degree murder.

A public defender representing Gay at the hearing Tuesday said Gay has no criminal history and that he has lived at a home on Abigail Street in Little Rock for seven years.
