Arkansas State Police reported two Monette residents were killed in a two-vehicle crash in Craighead County early Thursday.
Zachary Wells, 20, of Monette was driving a 2006 GMC east on Arkansas 18 at 2:49 a.m. when a tractor-trailer in the westbound lane crossed the centerline and hit the GMC head-on, according to a report.
Wells and his passenger Tanner Platz, 19, were pronounced dead at the scene. Chad Marshall, 44, of Jonesboro, the driver of the tractor-trailer, was transported to NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro.
At the time of the accident, rain was falling and roads were wet.
