3 killed in vehicle wrecks across state

A Tuckerman man was killed Friday in a crash involving a motorcycle and a car in Newport, according to a report from the Arkansas State Police.

Terry Lucas, 53, was driving a 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle east on McLain Street around 1:30 p.m. when he hit a 2012 Buick Verano, according to the report. The driver of the Buick Verano, who was not injured and is not listed in the report, had been stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Gray and McLain streets and was pulling out to turn west onto McLain Street.

State police Saturday also released reports for two June car crashes.

A June 17 wreck killed a Mulberry man after his pickup hit the guardrail of the Little Mulberry bridge shortly before noon, according to a report.

Billy Veteto, 63, was driving a 1996 Chevrolet pickup east on U.S. 64 at the bridge when he veered to the right and hit the guardrail, causing the truck to overturn. Veteto was ejected.

A Yukon, Okla., man was killed in a June 4 all-terrain vehicle crash in Polk County.

David Roberts, 51, was driving a 2003 Kawasaki ATV east on Polk County Road 61 about 7:30 p.m. when he left the road, went into a creek and overturned, according to the report.

At the time of all three crashes, the weather was clear and roads were dry.
