Gospel Piano Recital

RUSSELLVILLE — The Rev. Rita Richardson, pastor of Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Russellville, will present her annual gospel piano recital at 3 p.m. at the church, 224 S. Independence Ave., at the corner of West Second Street. The theme is “To God Be the Glory.” Richardson will perform unique arrangements of familiar spirituals, hymns, gospel and contemporary Christian music. The recital is free and open to the public. Adult Fall Softball League Divisional Meeting

RUSSELLVILLE — The Russellville Recreation and Parks Department will hold a divisional meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the Hughes Community Center for teams competing in the fall softball league. Audubon Society Meeting

CONWAY — The Arkansas River Valley Audubon Society will meet at 7 p.m. in Room 10 of the Donald W. Reynolds building at Hendrix College. The room is in the basement on the left side of the building. Online Business Listings Workshop

OZARK — The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center is partnering with Google to help put every business on the map. A free workshop will be held from 1:30-3 p.m. at Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus. This hands-on workshop will help business owners find out what their business listings look like on Google search and maps, and will include work time to manage the online information. Summer Concert Series

CONWAY — The Faulkner County Library presents its fourth annual Summer Concert Series, with music from local musicians. The event is held indoors to beat the heat. All concerts are at 2 p.m. Sundays. Cooling Station, Movies and More

CONWAY — The Faulkner County Library is an official cooling station. Anyone who needs a cool place to be during library hours is invited to come in and check out the library’s programs, which include classic, family-friendly films on Tuesdays and Fridays. Children are welcome if they are accompanied by an adult. The movie schedule is as follows: 3 p.m. Tuesday; and 3 p.m. Friday. The library also has games, puzzles and coloring sheets in the reference area for use. All library events are free and open to the public. Adult Summer Reading Program

CONWAY — The Faulkner County Library offers Escape the Ordinary, the library’s first summer reading program for adults ages 16 and older. Participants will sign up and receive a punch card to keep track of books that they check out and read. Those reading e-books are asked to email a list of e-books read to fcl@fcl.org. Card punches are also given for other activities. Three prizes will be awarded during the summer, including an iPad Mini 3. Friends of the Library Book Shop

HEBER SPRINGS — The Friends of the Library Book Shop, 2255 Arkansas 25B N., is open from 3:30-7 p.m. Mondays, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays. The shop offers a large selection of books at bargain prices. All proceeds from the shop benefit the libraries in Cleburne County.

Cherokee Bingo

CONWAY — Cherokee Bingo begins at 6:15 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday at Helton’s Wrecker Service/U-Haul, 710 S. Harkrider St. All proceeds go to the Helton-Osburn-Spencer Scholarship Fund at the University of Central Arkansas.

CONWAY — The Conway Community Arts Association and the Lantern Theatre will hold auditions for their next production, Moonlight and Magnolias, at 7 p.m. Aug. 3 and 4 at the Lantern, 1021 Van Ronkle St. Trent Reese will direct the play. Young Manufacturers Academy

MORRILTON — The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton’s community outreach department will offer a free Young Manufacturers Academy from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 3-7 for students entering seventh through ninth grades.Topics will include how manufacturing has changed in the 21st century, high-tech industries and how next-generation manufacturing offers career opportunities. Participants will make and design products, use computer software and technology, such as 3-D printers, and visit local businesses. Small Business Forum: Ask the Experts

Russellville — The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center will present Small Business Forum: Ask the Experts from 9-11 a.m. Aug. 7 at Arkansas Tech University. The free forum is for anyone who wants to start a business, including those new to business and seasoned business owners. Five experts — an attorney, a certified public accountant, a marketing specialist, a business consultant and a lender — will discuss topics concerning small-business ownership, management and best practices. Starlight Cinema

MORRILTON — The University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton will show Avengers: Age of Ultron at sundown Aug. 11 on the lawn outside the Fine Arts Auditorium at UACCM. The special back-to-school bash is part of the Starlight Cinema, a free community movie night. Guests need to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. Maumelle AARP Chapter Meeting

MAUMELLE — The Maumelle AARP Chapter will meet at 6 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Maumelle Senior Wellness Center. The Nash Law Firm will provide the program and a meal for members and guests. Nonperishable food items for the Hope Alliance Food Pantry will be collected at the meeting or make be taken prior to the meeting to the Senior Center. Life Choices Gala

CONWAY — Life Choices, a pregnancy resource center in downtown Conway, will host its annual fundraising gala, titled Celebrating 35 Years of Life, on Sept. 12 at the Conway Expo Center. The featured speakers will be Alan and Lisa Robertson of A&E’s Duck Dynasty. The event will be catered by D&L Catering and will feature a live auction, as well as a ministry update.
