With bingo, catfish, raffles, night was a winner for Access Schools

There's more to bingo games than having your markers all in a row on a bingo card. Bingo enthusiasts played a variety of games at the ninth annual Bingo Bash on July 16 at Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church.

Prizes such as Razorbacks football tickets, gift certificates, wine and massages were given to players for being the first to mark an X or a cross or, as in the final game, cover the entire bingo card.

The 13 bingo games were preceded by a catfish dinner buffet with all the fixings prepared by Adams Catfish. The only interruption to the games were drawings for raffle tickets. The three raffle prizes given away were a night at the ballpark with the Arkansas Travelers, four tickets to the Arkansas Razorbacks vs. Texas Tech Red Raiders on Sept. 19 and four $50 gift certificates to area restaurants.

Money raised benefits Access Schools' tuition assistance program. Access is a nonprofit organization that offers full-time education, therapy, training and activities for children and youths with learning and developmental disabilities. Laura and Andrew Crone were the event's chairmen.
