A 19-year-old Bryant man admitted his role in a carjacking in Little Rock and two North Little Rock robberies after his arrest early Monday, according to a report.

Christian Ellis was arrested about 3 a.m. at TownePlace Suites, a hotel at 12 Crossings Court in west Little Rock.

According to a Little Rock Police Department report, investigators spotted a vehicle stolen in a carjacking in the parking lot and then located Ellis.

"Mr. Ellis provided a statement admitting to taking the vehicle at gunpoint and doing two additional armed robberies in" North Little Rock, the arresting officer wrote.

According to a separate report filed in the carjacking, the victim was getting out of his blue Ford Expedition early Sunday morning in the parking lot of the Food Giant at 10320 Stagecoach Road when a gunman approached him. Police say the assailant demanded the victim's keys and phone and then took off in the vehicle.

North Little Rock police said later Monday that Ellis had been charged in the armed robberies Sunday of the Clothes Mentor store at 2641 Lakewood Village and the Dollar General at 1701 Pike Avenue.

In each case, Ellis displayed a handgun and got cash from the register, authorities said in a statement. He was spotted fleeing the Clothes Mentor robbery in a blue Ford Expedition believed to be the one taken in the carjacking, police added.

Ellis remained in the Pulaski County jail late Monday morning with bail not yet set. He faces charges of aggravated robbery and theft of property in the carjacking case, and two counts of aggravated robbery and two counts of theft of property in the North Little Rock cases.
