Travs win, rough up Drillers' top prospect

Texas League

Michael Snyder hit a three-run home run off one of minor-league baseball's top prospects to cap a four-run fourth inning and the Arkansas Travelers beat the Tulsa Drillers 4-1 Sunday in Tulsa.

The victory capped a four-game sweep for the Travs, their first four-game road sweep of the season.

Snyder's home run, his second of the season, came off Julio Urias, the No. 3 overall prospect in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization, according to Baseball America.

Urias gave up 4 runs on 6 hits and struck out 3 over 5 innings in his first start since undergoing cosmetic eye surgery in May.

The Travs' four-run fourth was enough for Albert Suarez, who held the Drillers to 1 run on 4 hits and struck out 4 over 7 2/3 innings pitched. Greg Mahle pitched a hitless 1 1/3 innings to earn his 10th save.

Tulsa scored its run in the third on Ronald Torreyes' RBI single.

Suarez (8-7), who won for the first time since June 22, held Tulsa hitless in the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh before exiting in the eighth inning. Tulsa is on a season-long six-game losing streak.

NATURALS 6, CARDINALS 2

Lane Adams had three hits, and Kenny Diekroeger drove in two runs as the Northwest Arkansas Naturals earned a four-game split Sunday in Springfield, Mo.

Adams singled and scored in the Naturals' four-run second inning that included six hits, all singles off Cardinals' starter Arturo Reyes.

The Naturals added two runs in the eighth when Hunter Dozier doubled and scored on a balk. Diekroeger added an RBI single. Mark Peterson earned the victory after pitching three shutout innings.
