Police: Three men arrested following overnight gunshots in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE -- Three men were arrested early Monday after gunfire in a neighborhood left three bullet holes in an empty vehicle's door.

Cody Patrick of Springdale and Jeleel Ford and Collin Phillips of Fayetteville were arrested in connection with a terroristic act and engaging in violent criminal group activity. Ford, 23, was being held Monday in the Washington County Detention Center with no bond set. Phillips, 21, and Patrick, 22, weren't listed on the jail's online roster by 5 p.m. Monday afternoon.

Fayetteville police went shortly after 3 a.m. to 1507 N. Dawn Drive, where a caller reported hearing gunshots and seeing a vehicle on the street. Dawn Drive is northeast of the intersection of West North Street and North Garland Avenue.

Officers found three bullet holes in the caller's Cadillac, according to the preliminary arrest reports for the three men. The caller, who isn't named, said he recognized the car belonged to a relative of Ford. Police went to his apartment, where they found the three men and a rifle, according to the reports.

The men told investigators they had been in a sports bar Sunday night when Patrick got in a fight, according to the reports.

Their stories differed about what happened after they left the bar, according to the reports.

Phillips, Ford's next-door neighbor, said the three went to Ford's home after the bar without incident.

Ford said the three picked up a gun from Phillips' apartment and went searching for the men who fought with Patrick. He said Phillips fired shots into the air.

Patrick said they searched for the men who fought him, but didn't fire a weapon.
