BATESVILLE — The Nettleton Raiders and Wynne Yellowjackets will return as defending team champions at the 2015 Citizens Bank Pioneer Invitational High School Golf Tournament on Tuesday at The Course at Eagle Mountain. The tournament, now in its third year, will open the 2015 season for golfers from Batesville, Forrest City, Greene County Tech, Nettleton, Paragould, Southside, Valley View and Wynne. The tournament will be the first opportunity for Batesville golf coach Chad Larose and his counterparts from the other schools to see their teams in competition. Play will begin with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Team trophies will be awarded for first and second place in boys and girls divisions, plus individual trophies for medalists and runners-up.

Dairy Queen Miracle Treat Day

BATESVILLE — Dairy Queen will hold Miracle Treat Day from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. today. All proceeds from the sale of any size Blizzard will go to Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Davidsonville Park History Canoe Float

POCAHONTAS — Davidsonville Historic State Park staff will lead a history-themed float trip on the Black River from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Davidsonville’s founding. The canoe trip will start at Davidsonville Historic State Park and end at Powhatan Historic State Park. The day will conclude with a guided tour of Powhatan. Clothing Drive

CABOT—The Cabot Lions Club will hold a clothing drive to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Open Arms Shelter. Stuff the Bus

BATESVILLE — The United Way of North Central Arkansas will end its annual effort to collect school supplies and other basic items for children in Independence County on Saturday. School supplies and athletic shoes will be collected through Saturday at The Wood Family Dealerships; at Citizens Bank locations in Batesville, Cave City and Pleasant Plains; and at Anytime Fitness in Batesville. Vacation Bible School Programs

BATESVILLE — Compass Church’s vacation Bible school programs, Camp Discovery VBS and Game Days VBS, will begin Monday. Camp Discovery VBS will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday through Aug. 7 for 4-year-olds through second-graders. They will meet at Compass Church, 4550 Harrison St. Game Days VBS will be held at West Magnet School from 6-8:30 p.m. Monday through Aug. 6 for children in grades three through eight.

White River’s Got Talent Auditions

BATESVILLE — Auditions for White River’s Got Talent will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and Aug. 6 at the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville. Finalists will participate in the White River’s Got Talent finale in Riverside Park during the White River Water Carnival on Aug. 29. Applications and release forms are due at auditions and are available at all First Community Bank locations and at firstcommunity.net. White River’s Got Talent is a family-friendly competition and is free and open to the public.

Outdoor Survival Classes

BATESVILLE — Dan Nash, a professional mountain guide, will teach two survival-training classes Sept. 26 in Room 902 of the Nursing Allied Health Building at the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville, along with field exercises outdoors. Basic Outdoor Survival will meet from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and participants need to bring a water bottle, two bandanas and a steel or magnesium fire striker.
