Fare unpaid, man arrested, police say

A Batesville man hired a taxi to take him from Little Rock to a lingerie store in Cabot on Wednesday, but he did not have the cash for the fare, according to a Jacksonville police arrest report.

Jeffrey Joyner, 47, of 2243 Goff Drive in Batesville, asked to go to Cabot after he was picked up by a cab at Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport/Adams Field, the report said.

He then asked to stop at Cupid's Lingerie, 6111 John Harden Drive in Cabot, but upon arrival at the store he could not produce the $50.50 fare, the report said.

Joyner was arrested on one count of theft of service and booked into the Pulaski County jail. He was not listed on the jail's roster Wednesday night.
