Benton police are investigating a car crash Wednesday night near the entrance of the Northshore Gardens subdivision in Benton that killed a 17-year-old girl.
Around 11:15 p.m., a maroon passenger car traveling west on Northshore Drive left the road, went through a fence and hit the back of a home on Jasmine Drive, according to a news release from Lt. Kevin Russell of the Benton Police Department.
The unidentified driver was taken to Saline Memorial Hospital and then flown to a hospital in Little Rock. She died of her injuries around 3 a.m. Thursday, according to the release.
