Lower temperatures expected for much of state

Slight relief from hot and humid conditions that have blanketed the state in recent weeks will arrive Friday evening, forecasters say.

Arkansas is heat advisory-free, with temperatures forecast to fall as low as 69 degrees Friday evening.

A high of 94 degrees is forecast Friday in the Little Rock area. Temperatures late Friday evening into Saturday are expected to be several degrees cooler than recent days, with a low of 69 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in North Little Rock.

On Saturday temperatures could reach a high of 96 in Little Rock, according to the agency. No heat advisories have been issued.
