Woman dead in North Little Rock fire

A North Little Rock woman is dead after a Thursday night house fire, officials said.

Fire officials received report of the blaze at a home on War Eagle Drive in North Little Rock’s Indian Hills neighborhood about 11:30 p.m. Thursday, North Little Fire Department Chief Fire Marshal John Pflasterer said.

“The woman did make it out OK, but she went back into the house to get something and didn’t make it back out,” he said. Her husband made it out of the home uninjured. Pflasterer said the woman was in her mid-50s.

“We do know the fire started at the rear of the house,” Pflasterer said, but officials have not yet determined the cause.
