7 sites to serve children summer meals

Seven sites around Arkansas will provide food for children this summer to replace free- and reduced-price meals they receive at school, Arkansas Foodbank officials announced Monday.

The participating sites are part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Summer Food Service Program, Arkansas Foodbank spokesman Tyler Lindsey said in a news release.

The participating sites are:

• Boys and Girls Club of Ashley County, 203 W. Sixth Ave. in Crossett. The program will start next Monday and end Aug. 7. Breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., and lunch will be served from noon to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.

• Camden Housing-Ivory Heights, 4100 Ivory Heights in Camden. The program will start next Monday and end Aug. 7. Breakfast will be served from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., and lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

• Camden Housing-Lincoln Center, 600 Lincoln Center in Camden. The program will start next Monday and end Aug. 7. Breakfast will be served from 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., and lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

• Harvest Fellowship Worship Center, 9010 Hilaro Springs Road in Little Rock. The program will start June 16 and end Aug. 14. Breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m,. and lunch will be served from 11:30 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

• Geyer Springs United Methodist Church, 5500 Geyer Springs Road in Little Rock. The program starts June 16 and ends July 23. Breakfast will be served from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., and lunch will be served from noon to 1:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

• Oak Forest United Methodist Church, 2415 Fair Park Blvd. in Little Rock. The program starts June 16 and ends Aug. 14. Breakfast will be served from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., and lunch will be served from noon to 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

• University of Arkansas at Little Rock Children International, 2510 Fair Park Blvd. in Little Rock. The snack-only program will run from July 10 through July 31. Snacks will be served from 3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Meals will be provided at no charge to any child, regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, the release states.
