House burns; no injuries reported

No injuries were reported in a fire at a home south of Little Rock on Tuesday morning.

Crews were called before 6:45 a.m. to the fire at 3019 W. Dixon Road.

Firefighters on the scene said they made entry and found flames in a back hallway that then spread into the attic.

The home suffered smoke damage and some fire damage, though a monetary estimate of the damage wasn't immediately known.

The cause of the fire also wasn't yet clear.

No one was in the home when the first engine arrived, though officials on the scene said the resident was believed to be a retired firefighter.

Parked in the garage and visible from outside as firefighters walked in and out of the home was a Corvette with antique car plates. Its bumper sticker read "Fire fighters still make house calls."
