Lane closures set for Pulaski, Lonoke counties

Multiple lane closures are set to begin next week on roads across the state for construction projects, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department announced.

Beginning Monday, Entergy crews replacing electric poles in Pulaski County along Interstate 30 eastbound on Frontage Road, Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department spokesman Jeff Whatley said.

Crews will work between the Pulaski County-Saline County line at mile marker 126 and the Vimy Ridge Road overpass at mile marker 127. Frontage Road traffic will be reduced to one lane.

The outside lane closure of Frontage Road will begin Monday and continue through July 10th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each weekday.

Structural steel work on the Norman Road Bridge on Interstate 40 in North Little Rock will require the eastbound and westbound lanes of the interstate to close between mile markers 146 and 148, the department said.

The closures will run from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly Monday through the week's end. The closure will also include short traffic stops intermittently between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. each day.

Sign installation on Interstate 630 in Little Rock will require a lane closure Sunday, officials said.

Crews will install an overhead sign at the I-430/630 Big Rock Interchange and will reduce westbound traffic to one lane between the Baptist Health exit and the ramp leading to I-430 northbound.

The closure will be between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., the department said.

In Lonoke County, crews working on the driving surface of two southbound bridges on U.S. 67 will require lane closures next week. These jobs will reduce traffic to one lane between mile markers 25 and 28, Whatley said.

The southbound, outside lane closure will begin Monday and continue through Thursday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day.
