According to the North Little Rock Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call at 5:28 a.m. Saturday at 1101 N. E St.

Rodrikques Lipkins, 34, of North Little Rock was found lying on the ground in the driveway of the one-story brick house, police said. He had at least one gunshot wound.

The home was not Lipkins' residence, police said.

A resident of 1101 N. E St. said Lipkins lived somewhere in the neighborhood and had come over to play cards with friends. The resident, a 66-year-old man, identified himself only as "Arthur," telling police he had a mental instability.

Arthur told police Lipkins went outside for an unknown reason. Soon after, Arthur said, he heard a "bang, bang" and, after checking to see if someone had shot through one of the house's windows, went outside to find Lipkins, alone, struggling to move on the driveway.

"It looked like he was trying to get away," Arthur told police, adding that Lipkins' Oldsmobile was parked a few feet away from the driveway.

Blood was coming out of Lipkins mouth, Arthur said. What appeared to be a small, dried bloodstain was still on the driveway Saturday evening.

Arthur said he checked Lipkins' vitals and called police to tell them Lipkins was dead.

Lipkins was later pronounced dead at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.

The North Little Rock Police Department is investigating Lipkins' death as a homicide. There are currently no suspects.

Police ask anyone with information about the shooting to contact the department at (501) 758-1234.
