Little Rock Zoo fundraiser for wild rhinoceros conservation

LITTLE ROCK — The Little Rock Chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers and the Little Rock Zoo are hosting a fundraiser for wild rhinoceros conservation.

The event is scheduled June 20 at BoBrook Farms in Roland. It will feature a wine tasting hosted by River Bottom Winery at BoBrook Farms.

It will also feature a silent auction with some unique items, such as a behind-the-scenes experience where guests can feed Johari, the Zoo's black rhino, and also bid on wine glasses painted by Johari. Other items include a behind-the-scenes penguin experience and paintings by the Zoo's penguins, and other animal themed experiences and items.

All proceeds will benefit wild rhino conservation projects. It's estimated that less than 4,800 black rhinos remain in the wild and less than 20,000 white rhinos exist.
