Part of Northwest A Street to close beginning today

BENTONVILLE — The city Water Utilities Department today will close Northwest A Street between Northwest Fifth Street and Northwest Seventh Street to replace the water main under the street.

It will remain closed for about three weeks, according to a news release.

Residents and businesses on Northwest A Street between Northwest Fifth and Seventh streets will be allowed to enter and exit their driveways.

The closing is the second phase of a larger overall project to replace the water main and service lines under Northwest A Street from Northwest Third to Northwest Seventh.

The project began at the intersection of Northwest A and Third and will extend north to the intersection of Northwest A and Seventh. The anticipated time frame for the project is through June 26.

A project status map will be available on Bentonville’s web site, www.bentonvillear.com, and provided future street closings and a construction progress.

North and south traffic will need to use North Main Street during construction. Detour signs will direct traffic.
