• Three players with Arkansas ties were named to their respective league's All-Star Game rosters last week. Third baseman Zack Cox (AA Marlins) was named to the Southern League's North Division team, while D.J. Baxendale (AA Twins) will pitch for the South Division team June 23 at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery, Ala. First baseman Dominic Ficociello (high-A Tigers) will play in the Florida State League All-Star Game on June 20 at Tradition Field in St. Lucie, Fla. Pitcher Hunter Wood (A Rays) was previously named to the Midwest League All-Star Game.
• Pitcher Richie Tate (high-A Braves) was activated from the restricted list June 6. Tate served a 50-game suspension for using a drug of abuse and was assigned to the Carolina Mudcats while serving that suspension. He picked up a victory June 9 in his second appearance for the Mudcats against Potomac (high-A Nationals), allowing 2 hits with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts in 2 1/3 innings.
• Pitcher Justin Thomas (high-A Nationals) was sent down to Class A Hagerstown, Md., on June 2, only to be sent back to Potomac, Md., on June 4. Potomac radio broadcaster Bryan Holland said the move was made to allow another pitcher to come in and help with the completion of a suspended game, along with a regularly scheduled game against Myrtle Beach, S.C. (high-A Cubs) on June 2. Holland noted Thomas had pitched May 31 and was unavailable, which was why they needed to bring in an extra pitcher.

The severity of Sanburn's injury is not known and there is no timetable for his return. ... Pitcher Jalen Beeks (A Red Sox) picked up a victory against Augusta, Ga. (A Giants) on Thursday and suffered a loss at Savannah, Ga. (A Mets) on June 5. In 12 combined innings, Beeks allowed 4 earned runs on 10 hits with 4 walks and 11 strikeouts. ... Pitcher Jess Todd (AAA Red Sox) earned a victory against Toledo, Ohio (AAA Tigers) on Thursday and suffered a loss at Syracuse, N.Y. (AAA Nationals) on June 6. In 8 2/3 combined innings, Todd allowed 10 earned runs on 10 hits with 2 walks and 7 strikeouts. ... Pitcher Andy Ferguson (AAA Royals) was assigned to the Royals' rookie league team in Arizona on Friday. Moves of this nature usually allow players to recover from injuries. Attempts to contact team officials for comment on Ferguson's situation were not returned.
