Offensive lineman Kellen Diesch, who committed to Arkansas in June, has reopened his recruiting.

Arkansas offensive line coach Sam Pittman went into Texas in pursuit of highly recruited offensive lineman Kellen Diesch.

The effort paid off Sunday when Diesch committed to Arkansas.

Diesch, 6-7, 275, 4.87 seconds in the 40-yard dash, of Byron Nelson High School in Trophy Club, Texas, is one of the nation’s more athletic offensive linemen and has 20 scholarship offers, with Alabama, Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Michigan, Oregon, Tennessee, Baylor and Oklahoma State the most notable.

Diesch visited Arkansas for the Northern Illinois game last fall, once in March and again for the spring game in April.

National recruiting analyst Tom Lemming of CBS Sports Network said Diesch has great potential.

“He’s a very good athlete and he has the long arms, the quick feet you look for in an offensive tackle,” Lemming said. “I have him as a 3-star plus but with the potential to be a 4 when he gains more strength and weight.”

Diesch is Arkansas’ seventh commitment for the 2016 class. Oral commitments are nonbinding.
