Former Arkansas forward Michael Qualls suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament Thursday during a workout with the Phoenix Suns on Monday, according to DraftExpress and various media reports.

Qualls jumped to contest a shot and appeared to land awkwardly. He had an magnetic resonance imaging scan Sunday in Denver, which confirmed the extent of the injury

Qualls averaged 15.9 points per game for the Razorbacks during the 2014-2015 season and bypassed his senior year to make himself eligible for the draft.

The injury was not the first Qualls suffered in preparation for the draft. He suffered a quadricep injury during the NBA Combine at Chicago in May and had been unable to work out for teams. The workout in Phoenix was his first since the combine.

Hogs announce fall Hall of Honor class

The University of Arkansas will induct nine former athletes into the UA Sports Hall of Honor in September, the school’s athletic department announced Monday.

The class will be headlined by consensus All-America football players Steve Korte and Kendall Trainor, prolific rebounder Derek Hood in men’s basketball and All-America baseball outfielder Mike Loggins.

The 2015 class also features linebacker Lynn Garner, an All-Southwest Conference pick as a junior who racked up 330 career tackles; Ron Meyer, the school’s only four-time All-American in swimming and diving; track and field All-Americans Niall Bruton and DeeDee Brown-Campbell, and Robin Ford, the first female diver at Arkansas to win an NCAA title.

The nine new members were selected by a vote of former Arkansas letter winners in conjunction with the A Club.

The class will be inducted during the Hall of Honor weekend, Sept. 3-5, which includes a golf tournament at Fayetteville Country Club and an induction banquet at the Holiday Inn Convention Center in Springdale. The honorees will be introduced and recognized during halftime of Arkansas’ football home opener Sept. 5 against Texas-El Paso at Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

Tables and individual tickets to the induction banquet and the Hall of Honor golf tournament can be bought through the Razorback Foundation (479-443-9000, RazorbackFoundation.com).
