AARP Driver Safety Class
HEBER SPRINGS — An AARP Driver Safety Program class will he held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the McCoy Room of the Administration/Student Services Building at Arkansas State University-Heber Springs. Individuals age 55 and older who complete the course will qualify for a three-year discount on their automobile-insurance premiums in Arkansas. POWHATAN — The Lake Charles State Park’s Fun Fit Day Camp will take place Monday through Wednesday. Activities include scavenger-hunt hiking, kayaking, geocaching, races and swimming. NEWPORT — Jacksonport State Park will hold a Pioneer Craft Camp for children ages 8-12 from 9 a.m. to noon June 24-26. The deadline to register for the event is 3 p.m. Monday. Day 1 will be Daily Lives of Pioneer Children, day 2 will be A Place for Everything, and day 3 will be Building a Healthy Body. Youth Talent Contest
SALEM — The Fulton County Fair Youth Talent Contest will be held July 11 at Salem First Baptist Church on U.S. 62, and all contestants need to arrive by 7 p.m. There are three divisions: Pre-Junior for ages 5-9, Junior for ages 10-15 and Senior for ages 16-21. All contestants must be residents of or attend school in Fulton County. Winners of each category in the Junior and Senior divisions will represent Fulton County in the Arkansas State Fair Youth Talent Contest in Little Rock in October.
