Where I live: An appendix of Little Rock's Hillcrest neighborhood for 28 years with my husband of 29 years, Steve Evans. I'm mom to one teenager, Wyn Evans, 16, and several cats -- Miguel, Maya, Miss Peggy Lee, Cora.

Occupation: I am an artist and owner of Wabi-Sabi Designs antiques and vintage and South Main Creative, which is a work in progress. South Main Creative, an antique/vintage and art gallery with an urban, funky vibe, will open later this year in the wonderful SoMa district of downtown Little Rock.

My favorite space is: Our backyard. When we bought our home, there were only two large oak trees and some sketchy grass and weeds. We have transformed the space into a jungle of shared and salvaged plants, native rocks and moss and handmade stepping stones. Gathered rusty treasures and local art decorate the fence, house and little nooks and crannies.

Why: I love to be outside in the evening when Arkansas weather permits. After pouring a glass of wine and pretending I am going to relax, I head out back. I may sit in a comfy Adirondack chair for five minutes or so, but then I'm up pulling weeds, with the kitties hanging out around me. Being engulfed in the green and getting my hands in the dirt is a wonderful restorative meditation.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: eradicate mosquitoes from the universe!
