Fun Fit Day Camp

POWHATAN — The Lake Charles State Park’s Fun Fit Day Camp will take place Monday through Wednesday. Activities include scavenger-hunt hiking, kayaking, geocaching, races and swimming. Singing School

POUGHKEEPSIE — Marty Phillips will teach a Do-Re-Mi singing school from 6-8 p.m. June 22-26 at Ring’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Registration will start at 5:30 p.m. June 22. 16th Section Community Picnic

CABOT — The 16th Section Community Crime Watch will host a community picnic from 5-7:30 p.m. at the 16th Section Community Center. The outdoor event will feature hamburgers and hot dogs with condiments, while supplies last. Entertainment and games will also be provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Horseshoe Bend Farmers Market

HORSESHOE BEND — The Horseshoe Bend Farmers Market will take place from 8-11 a.m. every Wednesday in the Faith Presbyterian Church parking lot. Fresh vegetables and fruit, baked goods, locally made birdhouses and feeders, fresh eggs and dairy products will be for sale every week. Marketgoers may pre-order fresh Gulf shrimp and oysters, as well.

Discovery Hour

Second Time Around Bookstore

SEARCY — The Literacy Council of White County operates the Second Time Around Bookstore at 109 E. Center. Proceeds from the sale of donated books support the mission of helping adults in the community improve their literacy and English-language skills. The store and literacy office are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays. All prices are reduced through June for the bookstore’s moving sale.
