1 charged in holdup at LR gas station

Police arrested a Little Rock man Friday evening and charged him in the May aggravated robbery of the Phillips 66 gas station on Stagecoach Road, police said.

On May 15, Lewis "Cecil" Kendrick III, 20, was a passenger in a vehicle that police stopped shortly after the robbery, police said.

According to the report, Kendrick was released because officers were not aware that the vehicle's occupants had been involved with the robbery.

He faces one count each of aggravated robbery and theft of property, with no bail set, police said.

Kendrick is scheduled to appear in Little Rock District Court on July 3.

Police: Unregistered sex offender jailed

A Little Rock man was arrested Friday for failing to register as a sex offender, police said.

Marshals arrested Larry Williams, 48, on Friday afternoon near the 12th Street police station, where he was supposed to register, according to the arrest report.

Williams told police Friday that he lived at 1723 S. Elm St. and 4201 W. 17th St.

The last time he registered with authorities, he lived at 4301 W. 17th St., police said.

Williams is due in Little Rock District Court on July 15.

2 arrested in NLR after vehicle stolen

Two people were arrested Thursday afternoon in North Little Rock after reportedly stealing a white Chevrolet Tahoe, police said.

Marcello Louis Spencer, 33, of Jacksonville and Amber Lea Johnson, 28, of Arkadelphia were standing near the Tahoe, parked outside their house at 2023 E. Washington Ave., on Thursday afternoon when they were arrested, according to the arrest report.

The Hot Springs Police Department had reported the vehicle and a GPS device stolen.

When police questioned Spencer, they smelled marijuana and found a bag containing the drug in the right pocket of his pants, the report said.

He was arrested and charged with two counts of theft by receiving and one count of possession of a controlled substance.

Police said his bail is set at $10,000.

Johnson was also charged with two counts of theft by receiving. Her bail is set at $7,500.

They are scheduled to appear in North Little Rock court Tuesday.
