Donald Trump will headline the annual Reagan-Rockefeller Dinner fundraiser in Hot Springs next month, the Republican Party of Arkansas said Monday.

Trump, who announced his Republican presidential bid last week, will be the keynote speaker at the dinner, to be held at the Hot Springs Convention Center on July 17. Several state GOP officials are expected to attend the event, which is the party's biggest fundraising event of the year.

“Mr. Trump brings a very unique dimension to next year’s democratic process as a private entrepreneur and business leader,” Arkansas GOP Chairman Doyle Webb said in a statement.

Trump is the second Republican presidential candidate to visit the state — along with Arkansas native former Gov. Mike Huckabee — and Webb said he expects “more candidates to come as the process accelerates.”

The state Democratic Party said earlier this month that presidential hopeful and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton will headline that party's annual Jefferson-Jackson Dinner on July 18 in North Little Rock.
