Authorities in Pine Bluff are looking for two people suspected in the fatal shooting of a clerk during a robbery at a gas station Monday night.
The agency said in a statement that 18-year-old Sha'Quille Ali Carter of Little Rock is wanted in the robbery and homicide at the Big Red at 1802 E. Harding Ave. A second suspect whose identity isn't known is also being sought.
The clerk, 46-year-old Hardip Singh of Pine Bluff, died from an apparent gunshot wound after being shot during the robbery, which occurred shortly before 8:30 p.m. A second clerk who was also in the store was uninjured.
The robbers left in a four-door green or pewter, early 2000s-model Cadillac DeVille sedan with a custom chrome grill, police said.
Authorities overnight released an image from the gas station's surveillance system. Several commenters on the agency Facebook page suggested they knew the identity of the man pictured, and the police department an hour later posted a followup image naming Carter a suspect and seeking tips.
Carter is described as a black man who stands about 5-foot-6 and weighs 200 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He is believed to still be in the Pine Bluff area.
Police said the second suspect — who was reportedly driving the Cadillac when it left the scene — is also being sought, "and a substantial reward is being offered."
