Washington County

Elmdale Baptist Church in Springdale, 1700 W. Huntsville Ave., presents an Independence Day music program during worship at 10:15 a.m. Sunday.

House of Hope Rescue Mission in Springdale, 505 E. Emma Ave., and the Rodeo of the Ozarks partner for a canned food drive. Items will be collected at the three main entrances of Parsons Stadium on each night of the 71st annual rodeo, Wednesday to July 4. The mission also sponsors a float during the July 4 rodeo parade, and volunteers will walk alongside the float to collect donations. Canned goods, nonperishable food and monetary donations are appreciated.

The mission is a day center for the homeless and needy in Northwest Arkansas. The mission provides hot meals, a food pantry, clothes, showers and laundry facilities. The mission's hours are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. The mission is operated by New Hope Fellowship.

Charity Baptist Church in Rogers, 2901 W. Olive St., presents weRcalled, a Christian worship group, at 6 p.m. July 5 at the church. The group is from Kingsland, Alaska.

The Neighborhood Church in Bentonville, 2003 S.W. Regional Airport Road, sponsors its youth in a car wash raising money to send local delegates to the July youth conference of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Detroit. Cars will be washed during the 9 a.m. and 10:40 a.m. services Sunday.

Unity Church of the Ozarks, 902 S.W. Second St., Bentonville, present a workshop on planning personal funeral services after the congregation's monthly potluck meal Sunday. The Rev. Edie Skalitzky and the Rev. Jan Lightener lead the program.

The United Lutheran Church of Bella Vista, 100 Cooper Road, will mark Independence Day with members gathering around the flag pole for the Pledge of Allegiance at 9:30 a.m. July 5. Sandy O'Neil will sing the National Anthem, then the congregation will process into the sanctuary for worship.

The Breakfast Club (formerly the Men's Club) holds its annual picnic at 5 p.m. July 6 at the Riordan Pavilion in Bella Vista. Cost is $12 per person, with registration requested by Wednesday.

The church sponsors its outdoor movie night at 8 p.m. July 10 with the feature "Monsters University." Popcorn and drinks are provided. Lawn chairs and blankets encouraged.

Holiday Island Community Church, 188 Stateline Drive in Eureka Springs, present a Biblical marketplace for children ages 4 to 12. The program runs from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. July 6-10.
