2 formally charged in Jonesboro death

JONESBORO -- Two accused in the Memorial Day shooting death of a Jonesboro man were formally charged with first-degree murder Monday, 2nd Judicial Circuit Prosecuting Attorney Scott Ellington said.

Ladarius Lee, 18, and Tonisha Mitchell, 21, were arraigned in Craighead County Circuit Court in Jonesboro. Judge Victor Hill scheduled a bond hearing for the two on July 24.

The pair are accused of fatally shooting Nelson McCullough, 28, at his home on May 25.

Police said the two went to McCullough's home on West Monroe Avenue and were admitted inside. McCullough was shot once in the chest and once in the head, Ellington said.

The prosecutor said Lee and Mitchell will be tried Sept. 14 in Jonesboro.
