UALR adds pitcher

UALR has signed righthanded pitcher Keenan Wingfield, formerly of Navarro (Texas) College.

Wingfield led the Bulldogs with 21 appearances with a 3-5 record, 4 saves and 47 strikeouts this season. He was a first-team, All-Region XIV Conference selection.

“What we like about Keenan is the ability to throw a breaking ball for a strike, No. 1,” UALR Coach Chris Curry said. “He can come in pressure situations, runners on base late in the game and be a strike thrower, fill up the zone, control the running game and create a swing-and-miss pitch for us to shut down the offense. Keenan is very comfortable in that situation, having done a great job at great program like Navarro. We think that he’ll be able to fill an immediate role for next year."
