Pet of the Week Mud

Mud (33879) is our pet of the week. He's a 3-year-old mix of Labrador retriever and hound, named for his flecked coat. He'll greet you like an old pal. That and his enthusiasm for walks and romps outdoors make him a favorite among volunteers -- and he knows "sit" and "down." A home with a yard or a farm would work well for Mud.

Canine Close-Up

Rango (33910) is a 7-year-old dachshund whose big brown eyes will quickly win your heart. He'll happily curl up in your lap and be more than willing to head out on walks.

Cory (33875) is a jolly black Chihuahua, about 6 years old. Volunteers find that he enjoys being with people and also is good with other dogs. He passed the Canine Behavioral Assessment, having shown no aggression toward other dogs over food, toys or bones, and he can be touched and handled on his head, ears and back.

Ginny (33487) is a brown hound, just 8 months old. She's a small dog, under 30 pounds. She's shy but is learning to trust people and enjoy their company. She's looking for a home with someone who can be patient with her and give her plenty of love.

Featured Felines

Teddy (34021) has striking blue eyes, a contrast to his chocolate-colored face. He's a short-haired Siamese, 4 to 5 years old and weighing in at 13 pounds. His owner was unable to care for him anymore. He's laid-back but ready to play.

Cara (33978) catches the eye with the attractive orange patterns in her coat. But that's not all: At about 2 years old, she's alert, easygoing and longing for some good snuggling in a permanent home.

Louie (30386) is younger than 1 year old and adores being petted. He's not only affectionate, but also plenty playful and talkative. Mostly white, he sports a jaunty orange "cap" and patches as well as a striped tail.

Brandy (33979) is about 3 years old. She's a tortoiseshell, with dark and lovely highlights. Like many tortoiseshells, she's gorgeous and marches to her own drummer.
