Snub-fest best part of Oscars

Keeping Score of the Recent Rash of Snubbings: Oscar edition.

On the Oscars red carpet, Melanie Griffith revealed she's snubbing her daughter Dakota Johnson's dirty movie Fifty Shades of Grey -- in which Dakota snubbed clothing. Dakota snubbed her mother back with a disrespectful eye roll deserving of a Fifty Shades-style spanking.

Selma was snubbed by the Academy Awards by not being nominated nearly enough. Meanwhile, American Sniper was nominated for every award possible just so the Academy could snub it.

True, Sniper won Best Sound Editing, but that's like saying, "She's ugly but she has a great voice!" Snub shot to the heart.

Selma did win the award for Best Song for "Glory," written by Common and John Legend. When Common headed up to accept, he appeared to snub Oprah's high-five, leaving her hanging. Forget an "aha" moment. This was a definite "ha ha" moment.

Birdman won about every big award there was -- Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay and Best Director. Everything, that is, except for Best Actor, therefore a snub to Michael Keaton, who carried the film. And to his tighty whities too.

Lego Movie was snubbed (save for a Best Song nomination for "Everything Is Awesome," which resulted in an awesome snub) by the Academy's Animated Film Category, and filmmakers are still trying to pick up the pieces.

Gone Girl got super-snubbed. Not only did it fail to get a Best Picture nomination, the Academy Awards show spoiled the film by using a plot-revealing clip in presenting Best Actress nominee Rosamund Pike (who was snubbed in favor of Julianne Moore, Still Alice). Way to snub everyone who hadn't had a chance to see it yet.

Jennifer "Always a Presenter, Never a Winner" Aniston might have been snubbed by not being nominated, but at least she wasn't snubbed by the Oscars and the Golden Globes, like Angelina Jolie, who married Brad Pitt after he snubbed former wife, Aniston.

Except for a win by Patricia Arquette for Best Supporting Actress, the Academy snubbed the 12-years-in-the-making Boyhood. Perhaps because the feels-like-12-years-in-the-watching Boyhood snubbed any semblance of a plot?

Fans were furious that the late red carpet queen Joan Rivers was snubbed by not being honored in the Academy Awards' "In Memoriam" segment. She was further snubbed by the Academy's limp explanation: "Joan Rivers is among the many worthy artists and filmmakers we were unfortunately unable to feature in the In Memoriam segment of this year's Oscar show. She is, however, included in our In Memoriam gallery on Oscar.com."

And therefore Joan Rivers snubbed death by still being talked about and causing a stir.
