2 set talk on Congress dysfunction

Former U.S. Reps. Martin Frost and Tom Davis will speak at the University of Arkansas Clinton School of Public Service on Monday on the causes of legislative gridlock and offering a bipartisan plan for making Congress function.

Davis served in Congress from 1994 to 2008, representing Virginia's 11th district. During that time, he chaired the National Republican Congressional Committee twice and was chairman of the House Committee on Government Reform and Oversight before retiring.

Frost represented the Dallas-Ft. Worth area of north Texas in Congress for 26 years, serving four years as chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and four years as chairman of the House Democratic Caucus.

Seats for the noon lecture in Sturgis Hall can be reserved by emailing publicprograms@clintonschool.uasys.edu or by calling (501) 683-5239.

A book signing will follow the event.
